Below the Node is a curated houseplant and plant supply shop serving Columbus, Georgia. Instead of a traditional staffed storefront, Below the Node operates inside local retail locations, making it easy to shop plants and supplies while you're already out and about. 

Rare and collector plants are definitely a big part of Below the Node. Inventory changes constantly, but you can usually expect a mix of harder-to-find plants, interesting varieties and a few tried-and-true favorites. I personally select what comes into the shop rather than ordering the same standard assortment every time. 

Below the Node has two shopping locations in Columbus, Georgia, with our largest selection located inside Bluebelle Local Mercantile.

This is our main location and the best place to experience Below the Node. You'll find our rare and collector plants here, along with everyday favorites and our full lineup of plant care supplies — including clear nursery pots, potting mediums, fertilizers, grow poles and more. This is also the location you'll see featured most often on our social media.

Columbus Naturals at Highside Market
You can also find a smaller selection of houseplants at Columbus Naturals inside Highside Market, along with clear nursery pots and coir grow poles. This location is perfect for grabbing a new plant or a few plant-care basics while you're already shopping Highside.

Usually, no! Below the Node is set up so you can browse and shop on your own during the host store's regular business hours. Plants and supplies are labeled and priced, and if you have a question while you're shopping, just send me a message. I'm always happy to help. 

I source from a variety of trusted growers and suppliers, including specialty growers throughout Florida. I also make regular sourcing trips to personally shop greenhouses and hand-select plants for Below the Node. Sometimes I'm hunting for something rare and unusual, and sometimes I'm just looking for really beautiful, healthy versions of the plants we all know and love. 

There's no set restock day — I add plants whenever I find something worth bringing in. New and rare finds are primarily added to the Bluebelle location, and that's also the location you'll see featured most often on social media. Inventory can change quickly, so if you see something you love, don't wait too long! 

I can definitely try! If there's a particular plant on your wishlist, send me a message. I keep customer requests in mind when I'm sourcing and especially when I'm shopping growers in Florida. I can't promise I'll find every unicorn, but knowing what everyone is hunting for helps me know what to look for.

Yes! Bluebelle carries our full lineup of plant-care supplies, including clear nursery pots, potting mediums, soil amendments, fertilizers, grow poles, propagation supplies and other things I actually use and recommend. You'll also find a smaller selection of essentials, including clear nursery pots and coir grow poles, at our Highside location. 

Absolutely. You don't need a greenhouse cabinet, a collection of rare plants or the ability to pronounce every botanical name to shop here. 😂 There are plenty of approachable plants and supplies for newer plant parents, too. And if you aren't sure what would work in your space, send me a message and I'll be happy to help. 

Please do! Since Below the Node isn't a traditionally staffed plant shop, messaging is the easiest way to reach me. Send me the plant name, a photo of the label or whatever you're looking at and I'll help however I can. 

Sometimes! I ship select smaller plants during the spring and fall when temperatures are safe for shipping. Because weather and plant size both matter, shipping isn't available for everything. If you see something you're interested in, send me a message and I'll let you know if shipping is an option. 

From time to time I'll offer presales, special drops or other opportunities to claim plants through social media. Pickup information and deadlines will always be included with those posts. Regular booth inventory is generally first come, first served unless otherwise noted. 

Because Below the Node is intentionally always changing. I don't order from one permanent plant catalog or try to keep the exact same varieties in stock all the time. Grower availability changes, plants sell and I'm constantly finding new things. I'd rather have a smaller, interesting selection than fill shelves just to fill them. 

Social media is your best bet! That's where I share new arrivals, rare plant drops, restocks and sourcing trips. Most of what you see featured will be available at our main Bluebelle location unless I specifically say otherwise. 

 Yes! Selection varies, but I regularly carry plants that are considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. If you have curious pets at home, check out our Pet-Safe Plants page for some varieties to look for, or send me a message if you're unsure about a particular plant.
